I am seeing obvious slowness with a large number of rows in the datatable when using Explorer 8, 9 (I do not believe the version matters ). However, if the row count is not so large, then after working with the table -- sorting, paging, etc... then slowness will creep in anyway.. As I search for others who have seen the same problem, they may propose solutions, but when I try them the solutions make no improvement. I would seriously like the datatables authors to fix this problem in Explorer.
