Optional columns

Is it possible somehow to have some optionals columns so that the user can select the ones to show?
Or better said, select the ones to hide?

It is something usually use at Windows explorer, Mac OS finder... and some other websites.

Like a context menu clicking on the table header to do it. Is it possible?
