Limiting the number of text lines shown in a table row.

When submitting a textarea with more than 20 lines, the result is often a grid row cell which often fills the screen when viewing the grid / table . Is there a way to limit this, so that that it only shows the first few lines.?
I am using a form generated by the online generator.
