Sorting columns with German 'Umlauts' the right way. ä, ô, ü... etc.

Please! I need your help.
The standard sorting option does not sort
the Column with German Umlauts the right way.

Alaska
Berta
Egon
Ägeri

For example Ägeri should be at the first place. (ä = ae)

Ägeri
Alaska
Berta
Egon

How can I manipulate the datatable
config script or whatever to fix this
issue?
