I have a table with 5 displayed columns of data, each with a column filter in the table footer row. When I use the filter fields, the data is filtered as I would expect.
However, what I need to do ... is have the 3rd filter field actually filter on a hidden column #6 while displaying on screen the data from column 3.
is this even possible? or am I just confusing myself due to staring at my monitor for too long?
as an example ... column 3 is called "color" and hidden column #6 is "expanded_color"
in a particular database record, column 3 would have the value "Blue" but column 6 would have "Blue, Cyan, Turquoise, etc... "
basically ... I want someone to be able to filter for "Turquoise" but have the column display the column #3 value "Blue" and not the column #6 value.
Does this make sense?
